Installing the Modem and Configuring your connection Q. How do I install my D-Link DSL-200 USB Modem that is supplied? A. Netspace supply a 4 Page modem install guide in the package with your modem. I will be posting the guide very soon. Here is a link to technical resources from D-Link in regards to the DSL-200: http://www.dlink.com.au/tech/resources/files/modems/dsl200.htm Installing the DSL-200 on Windows xp is fairly straight forward and very much automated. The Windows 98/ME/2000 procedure is a little different though, I found myself manually installing the modem itself on Wndows 2000. I have also managed to install the DSL-200 on Windows ME and it was fairly straight forward and automated as well.
Q. How do I install my D-Link DSL-300 Ethernet Modem that is supplied? A. Netspace do supply a PPPoE install guide for the modem, but many regulars on the #NSHelp irc channel have suggested using alternate means of software for it, such as RASPPPoE software which can be found at: www.raspppoe.com. I have been told that this software is very easy to install and configure by the users of Ethernet modems, I cannot explain first hand as i own a DSL-200. More coming soon. » Back to Top |
